Vatican
City, 28 November 2013 (VIS) – The Holy Father has appointed Msgr.
Alfred Xuereb as delegate for the Pontifical Commission for Reference
on the Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR) and for the
Pontifical Commission for Reference on the Organisation of the
Economic-Administrative Structure of the Holy See, in order to
exercise a supervisory role and to inform the Pope, in collaboration
with the Secretariat of State, on working procedures and on any
initiatives taken.
The
director of the Holy See Press Office, Fr. Federico Lombardi S.J.,
emphasised that this appointment gives an official character to a
role that Msgr. Xuareb has fulfilled for some time.
